About Us

Magic Life was formed in 2013 by a group of professionals with a genuine commitment, interest and concern for vulnerable adults with Mental Health diagnosis, Learning Disabilities and Autism. Magic Life Limited now operates twelve supported living homes in North London, Essex and Hertfordshire.

We believe in delivering high-quality treatment, tailored to the individual’s needs within a caring community. Every individual is actively involved in planning and decision-making from assessment onwards, as we believe this gives them control over their own lives.

I started my nurse training in 1984 and I worked as a Registered Nurse in the NHS, in the private sector in a variety of settings. In 2013 I became the registered manager of a 112 bedded nursing home, and then in January 2016, I moved into my current position as Operations Manager here at Magic Life. I have a wealth of experience, not only that have I gained professionally but also on a more personal level. I enjoy making a difference to someone’s life, knowing that I have supported them to lead as independent a life as possible and to watch their confidence grow is extremely rewarding. At Magic Life we want to make a difference and we achieve what we set out to do. Magic Life is an expanding company and I am delighted to be part of it. Caroline Murphy

20 years ago I started my career in care and have worked across the variety of different settings supporting people with various diagnosis and disabilities. I have been a registered manager of a care home and the last six and a half years as a Quality Assurance Director, setting the standard and monitoring quality across the company and ensuring quality for the people we support. I am passionate about care and my focus is supporting people no matter their disability or support needs to achieve their best and set goals. As a trainer, I believe knowledge and understanding drives quality by investing in staff that in turn has positive impacts on the people we support. Magic Life is growing fast with its innovative approach to support and accommodation and I am delighted to have joined as the Operations Manager and looking forward to the journey. William Rees

I have been working with individuals with Dual-Diagnosis since 2010, I joined Magic Life as a Support-Worker, part-time in 2015. I was in the last year of my studies to become a registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), My final essay was about the impact of Mental-Health in BME (Black Minority Ethnic) males and the issue of Dual-Diagnosis. I found that working face to face with these individuals gave me more insight than any research papers ever could, and ultimately I was able to get a hands-on approach to supporting individuals. I have now worked at Magic Life for nearly 4 years, and have moved from a Support-Worker to Area-Manager, through recognition of my hard work and understanding of the individuals we support. My life experiences have enabled me to have an understanding and empathetic relationship with individuals, there is nothing more rewarding than supporting someone to move towards a more independent way of living. MagicLife is a forward-thinking company that has great plans for the future; I am excited about how the company is expanding and look forward to being part of that growth. I am also somewhat Spurs mad!!! Raff Baccus

Project Manager - Devonshire Lodge

I have worked with young people and adults with learning disabilities and Autism for over 10 years. My educational background is in health. I am highly passionate about working with people with learning disabilities and Autism, I truly love my job and being at Magic Care Solutions enables me to support people with learning disabilities and Autism whether it be to guide, support, nurture or walk side by side with them on their journey to living a happy, healthy and independent life. My values and morals are centred on treating people with a high level of care, no less than how I would treat my own family. I strongly believe in going above and beyond when caring for someone. At Magic Care Solutions I can be unconventional and creative in my working style which allows me and my team to deliver care through exploring different activities and approaches. I feel that this is important as everyone deserves to be treated as individuals and are supported to create a unique pathway to achieve their dreams and aspirations. We introduced livestock chickens to Devonshire Lodge which are used for petting, therapy and produce, this has been a success so far. We have a great team of staff at Devonshire Lodge who are motivated, professional, caring, and fun this creates a great atmosphere and environment for our service users.

Learning Disability Nurse

I've been working with people with Learning disabilities for nearly 10 years now. I am a qualified Learning Disability Nurse and love my role in protecting and promoting the rights, health and well-being of people with Learning disabilities. I have always been a people person, and that’s why I will work tirelessly to ensure my practice is person-centred, safeguarding that their needs come first. My previous role as a community nurse involved me taking a holistic approach looking at someone's physical and mental health to support them to stay stable in the community, and to prevent placement breakdown. The other half of that role involved moving people back into the community after a long term stays in a hospital. It is these experiences combined with a wide knowledge of services and process that local authorities/ health teams work under, that gives me a strong foundation to support people in supported living and guide those who support them.

I was a Support Worker for over 10 years in the mental health field, whilst in this field, I attended college and received my HNC qualification in Management. Sadly I was made redundant but that didn’t stop me from continuing in the field that I love. I started working with Magic Life as a Mental health/ Learning Disabilities carer. I love working with people and my hard work didn’t get unnoticed and I then got promoted to senior. I have now been in this Job for three years and it has been enjoyable and I also gained more skills and knowledge which got me promoted to a Project Manager of Burlington Lodge
